Homecoming 2013 - Something for Everyone

From reunions and concerts to faculty presentations and wine tasting -- not to mention the traditional Lip Sync competition and Midnight Mania and the return of the beloved Homecoming Parade -- it’s a weekend not to be missed
Oct 14, 2013

Two annual events merged this year to create a lollapalooza weekend on the Stockton campus with fun for the whole Pacific family. This weekend, Oct. 16-18, Pacific celebrates the return of Homecoming, complete with a parade on the Miracle Mile (watch out Rose Parade!). The event combines Alumni Reunions, formerly held in June, with the annual Fall Festival and Parent Family Weekend.

Weekend Highlights

On Friday, catch Women's Soccer vs. USF, then stop by the Tiger Tailgate before celebrating the opening of basketball season with Midnight Mania.

Saturday features traditions old and new, with the 5K Tiger Dash and Fun Run, Homecoming Parade, Lip Sync and the Conservatory's 135th Anniversary Concert. And don't miss Taste of Pacific, an Alumni Weekend favorite making its Homecoming debut with wine, tapas, music and dancing.

Finish the fun on Sunday with an interfaith service in Morris Chapel, a music symposium and a rollicking Theatre Arts performance or family friendly film.

And There's More

Check out the list of reunion groups and renew old acquaintances at gatherings throughout the weekend. There will also be interactive demonstrations with Speech and Debate and Engineering aerial robotics and faculty demonstrations on cooking the perfect pizza, dinosaurs and fossils, the useful silk of black widow spiders, fun with physics and an explosive chemistry experience.

Sports enthusiasts can enjoy swimming meets, soccer matches and Quidditch (Harry Potter fans unite!).

For parents with aspiring college students, there will be a number of sessions to help their son or daughter prepare for college, learn about education abroad, financial aid and career options and hear from alumni.

With such a full schedule, the only challenge will be deciding what to do. One thing's for sure: Pacific is the place to be this weekend.
