    If your native language is not English, you must submit official results of one of the following in order to receive consideration for admission:

    Internet-based TOEFL 61 79
    Paper-based TOEFL 500 550
    IELTS score of 5.5 6.0

    With these scores, you would be required to take the University's ESL placement exam if you are admitted. You may also be required to take additional ESL classes during your first term at the University.

    Scores of 80/550/6.5 will exempt you of the ESL placement exam and further ESL classes.

    All international applicants are required to take the TOEFL or IELTS unless they meet one of the following waiver requirements:

    1. SAT Critical Reading (Verbal) score of 510 or higher
    2. ACT Composite score of 22 or higher
    3. One academic year (two semesters, or four quarters) of English courses at a university in the United States, with grades of B or higher
    4. Citizens of the following countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom. If you are a citizen of one of these countries, you must take the SAT or ACT instead of an English language proficiency test. International transfer students with more than 30 units of college work do not need to take the SAT or ACT.
    5. All high school instruction in the U.S. and in English*
    6. "A" level English scores of B or higher*

    *You must take the SAT or ACT instead of an English language proficiency test if you meet these waiver requirements.
